Every 3 - 4 weeks BOOKS for the BARRIOS fills a 40-foot container of books (containing approximately 800 cases of books and learning materials). This is driven to Oakland, where they are then shipped overseas to the capital of the Philippines, Manila. Here, the books are received, sorted, and distributed throughout the archipelago by long-time trusted BOOKS for the BARRIOS contacts on the ground. BOOKS for the BARRIOS Program Officers make periodic inspections to confirm delivery and details of the impact.
